Vinted holiday mode: go away without losing your sales

Updated · 4 min read

A sale while you are far from your stock means a late parcel, a cancellation and sometimes a bad review. Holiday mode prevents that. Here is what it does on each site, and how not to forget anything when you leave or come back.

Vinted holiday mode

On Vinted, holiday mode is in Settings › Account. Once it is on, your items cannot be bought and drop out of search results until you switch it off. Your listings, likes and reviews are kept.

  • It has no end date: you have to remember to turn it off.
  • Messages still arrive: buyers may ask when you are back.

And on other sites?

SiteEquivalent
eBay“Time away” in your account settings: listings hidden or just an away message, with start and end dates.
Vestiaire CollectiveAn unavailability period, with start and end dates.
Leboncoin, BeebsNo holiday mode: you have to deactivate or remove the listings by hand.

What people often forget

  • Automations: a tool that relists or drops prices while you are away pushes your listings forward when you cannot post anything.
  • Offers to likers: an offer accepted on holiday is a parcel to send.
  • Parcels in progress: ship everything that has sold before you leave, and check the shipping deadlines.
  • Coming back: a forgotten holiday mode means weeks without a sale.

Switch everything off and on at the right dates

In OnceAndSold, set your departure and return dates in Settings › Sales. On the day you leave:

  • holiday mode is turned on for Vinted, eBay and Vestiaire Collective, for the sites you ticked;
  • relists, price drops, offers to likers and queued listings are paused;
  • buyers who message you get an away reply with your return date, in English on the UK sites.

On your return date, everything starts again on its own. A banner in the app reminds you that holiday mode is on for as long as it lasts.

The details: holiday mode in OnceAndSold. Away for just a few days? Rest days are enough: the app does nothing on its own on those days, site by site. And so buyers aren’t left without an answer, see Vinted auto reply.

Frequently asked questions

Does Vinted holiday mode hurt my listings?

While you are away, your items cannot be bought and leave the search results. When you come back they reappear with their likes. Relisting items that had gone quiet helps you restart.

How long can I stay in Vinted holiday mode?

Vinted sets no limit: it stays on until you switch it off. OnceAndSold switches it off for you on your return date.
