Vinted automatic feedback: when it’s added, cancellations and keeping 5 stars

Updated · 5 min read

On Vinted, your star rating is the first thing buyers check after the photo. And some of that feedback isn’t written by anyone: Vinted adds it on its own. Here’s when, which way it goes, and how to keep a 5-star profile.

How Vinted feedback works

  1. The parcel is delivered. Once the order is marked as delivered, the buyer has 2 days to press Everything is OK or I have an issue. If they do nothing, the order completes automatically. (Buyers from a Pro seller have 14 days to raise an issue.)
  2. Once the order is completed, buyer and seller each have 4 days to leave feedback: stars and a comment.
  3. The feedback shows on the profile. The member who receives it can reply to it, but can’t edit or delete it.

It works both ways: as a seller, you can leave feedback for your buyer too.

Automatic feedback: when is it added?

Automatic feedback is only added when neither member has left feedback for the other. If the buyer leaves nothing within 4 days of the order being completed, the seller gets positive automatic feedback. A buyer who forgets to rate you doesn’t cost you anything.

SituationAutomatic feedback
The buyer leaves no feedback within 4 daysPositive for the seller
The item isn’t shipped on timeNegative for the seller
A member cancels the order manuallyNegative for whoever cancels, seller or buyer
The costliest case: missing the shipping deadline. Vinted then adds negative automatic feedback to your profile, even if the buyer never complained.

Cancelled orders and feedback

  • The automatic negative feedback goes to the member who cancels, not the other one.
  • If you agreed to cancel together (wrong size, item no longer available…), say so in the conversation first: once you’ve agreed, you can both edit the negative automatic feedback from the cancellation.
  • Vinted itself only edits or removes automatic feedback, or feedback that breaks its rules or the law. Deleted feedback can’t be restored.

Have to cancel yourself? Tell the buyer before you do, explain why and offer a solution. A friendly cancellation can be put right; a surprise one much less so. That’s also why you must avoid double sales when you sell on several sites: see crosslisting on Vinted and eBay UK.

Why feedback matters so much

  • Trust: between two listings at the same price, buyers pick the seller with the better rating.
  • Offers: a profile with lots of positive feedback gets haggled down less.
  • It sticks: bad feedback stays unless the member who left it changes it, or it breaks Vinted’s rules.

Keeping 5 stars: good habits

  1. Ship fast: the same day or the next, well before the deadline.
  2. Describe flaws honestly, with photos: a “not as described” claim hurts your rating more than a slightly lower price.
  3. Message the buyer: a thank-you after the purchase, a word when the parcel goes. A buyer who’s kept in the loop rates better.
  4. Leave feedback for your buyers as soon as the order is completed: many return the favour.
  5. Reply calmly to bad feedback: future buyers read your reply.

Do all this without thinking about it with OnceAndSold

OnceAndSold’s order automations handle these little jobs on every Vinted sale, from your own Chrome. Each one is turned on separately in Settings → Sales:

  • 5-star review for the buyer when the order is complete, with your comment (400 characters at most).
  • Thank-you message a few minutes after the sale, with several variants picked at random.
  • Tracking messages: parcel shipped, parcel at the pick-up point, sale completed.
  • Alert before the shipping deadline (12 to 48 hours before), on the dashboard and to your webhook, with a request to extend the shipping deadline in one click or automatically. The buyer accepts or declines it.

Messages and reviews only go out during the hours you choose (8 am to 10 pm Paris time by default), a few minutes apart, and only for sales made after you turn the option on. With proposal mode, each one waits for your approval. The details: order automations.

Frequently asked questions

When does Vinted leave automatic feedback?

If neither member has left feedback and the buyer leaves none within 4 days of the order being completed, Vinted adds positive automatic feedback for the seller. The order itself completes automatically if the buyer does nothing within 2 days of it being marked as delivered.

Can Vinted automatic feedback be negative?

Yes. If the item isn’t shipped on time, the seller gets automatic negative feedback. If a member cancels the order manually, the member who cancels gets it.

The order was cancelled: will I get bad feedback?

Only if you’re the one who cancelled. If you agreed to the cancellation together beforehand, you can both edit the negative automatic feedback afterwards.

Can I leave feedback for buyers automatically?

Vinted doesn’t do it for you. With OnceAndSold, the app leaves the buyer a 5-star review with your comment as soon as the order is complete, during the hours you choose.
